Fed Is Best Feeding Plan
2024 Edition
The Fed Is Best Feeding Plan is a way you can prepare yourself to feed your baby before you give birth. It helps you consider how you wish to feed your baby and how you want to address problems with feeding, if they arise. It can help you take inventory of your risk factors for feeding problems so that your health professionals can monitor you and your baby closer. It also provides information on how you and your health providers can tell if your baby is getting enough nutrition. The goal is to ensure safe and adequate feeding for all newborns in the first days after birth for every baby, every time.
Note that this feeding plan mostly applies to healthy full-term newborns. Always consult with your pediatrician if you have concerns about feeding problems. For premature newborns or babies with medical conditions, always consult with your pediatrician and/or neonatologist.
